It’s 2019 and we’re back with a bang! 2018 was brilliant for Team Saffron, we continue to grow year on year and 2019 will be no different!
Over the festive break we’ve been contemplating what will be on trend for 2019, taking into consideration what was popular last year and how couples view their catering options as we move forward with the times.
One extremely popular option which is gathering pace with changes is the option to ‘Pimp your Drinks’, starting with Prosecco, this theme continues to develop with more people opting to add things such as fruit, flavoured syrups and even glitter bombs and bursting bubbles! With Kilner Jars remaining popular for holding cocktails and fruit punch type drinks, we have seen wheelbarrows, buckets and even hessian sacks being used to hold bottled drinks, all adding to the clients chosen theme and this makes for a fantastic welcome to your guests.
Sharing really is caring when it comes to wedding food, our sharing platters continue to be popular with clients, and the options for this style of food has no limits. Anti-pasti starters continue to be popular to start meals, with carved meat platters with glazed seasonal vegetables also seeing a rise, especially when a guest is nominated at each table to carve the meat, its a great way to involve your guests on your special day. Table served BBQ’s, tapas and hot dishes such as Cottage Pie and Lasagne are also great ways of enjoying a hearty meal without having to leave your table.
We have seen a steady rise in Street Food options for both wedding breakfasts and corporate events, Paella, BBQ’s, Hog Roasts, Stir Fry’s, Curry’s and Burrito’s for example are a fantastic way to create an informal feel to your day, and our Street Food stands are amazing!
Lastly when it comes to desserts, there is no better way than to enjoy a dessert table, with a few different sharing style desserts such as Traditional Trifle, Eton Mess or Tiramisu for example. Again clients are ‘pimping’ dessert tables too with different cream options and lots of different toppings. Our most popular dessert option remains our sharing platters, homecooked Brownies, fresh Strawberries and delicious Profiteroles all served on wooden boards to the centre of the table, never fails to delight our guests.
